My first foray into the startup world began in 2011 with Hireducated, a marketplace designed to connect bright university students with startups in London. Though ill-fated, the experience taught me valuable lessons that I carried with me as I launched Edgefolio, a more successful venture aimed at bridging the gap between LPs and GPs in the hedge fund world.
In 2019, I took a step back from startups to focus on my most important project yet: my family. This time away from the hustle and bustle of entrepreneurship allowed me to reflect on what truly mattered and to gain clarity on the next steps in my career.
The call that sparked the fire in my belly came in February of this year. An old friend, someone I had mentored during the development of his own startup, Homefair, reached out to share his latest venture. He had successfully exited Homefair, selling it to Marketer Technologies, and was curious if I still had that entrepreneurial spark.
That call was the beginning of a new journey, one fueled by the power of listening to that fire in our bellies.
Together, we have set out to create a platform that connects founders, irrespective of their background or network, with relevant venture capitalists. Our goal is to increase the odds of forming great connections, securing funding, and ultimately, launching magical moonshots that will change the world.
